Welcome to Preschool
Our preschool is a part of the St. John Neumann community. It is rooted in the strong foundations of our Catholic faith and promotes the spiritual, academic, physical, and emotional well-being of each child. Our dedicated preschool teacher and their assistant provide students with the integral fundamentals needed to succeed.
The vision of St. John Neumann Preschool is the care and guidance of children to learn to the best of their ability. Our preschool children are given opportunities to engage in hands-on activities to prepare them the best we can for Kindergarten.
Meet Mrs. Berlin
Mrs. Berlin and her husband moved to Knoxville in 2014, just in time for her to start teaching at SJNCS. She has a BA in Sociology, a MA in Marriage and Family Therapy, and a MS in Elementary Education. Mrs. Berlin and her husband are foster parents for the state of Tennessee, as well as the proud animal parents of a Russian Tortoise named Ezma, and a Great Dane named Gem. She is active in her faith, and is very excited to be a PreK teacher where she can help little ones learn to love Jesus too.
What We're Learning This Year
In pre-K your child will be introduced to many new, exciting things.
Each day is filled with whole group, small group, and individualized activities. Your child will be learning about many things such as their senses, shapes and colors, community helpers, planet Earth, tools and machines, fairy tales and folktales, and more with our weekly themes. We follow a daily schedule routine including centers, song and dance, outside play, religion, rest time, story time, arts and crafts, middle school buddies (weekly), and dramatic play. Pre-K students also attend Mass to learn more about Jesus Christ each week.
Friday Folders come home each Friday. Please check and clean out your child’s Friday Folder each week.
I am so excited to have the opportunity to work with your child this year.
